Climate change could slash 7% off corporate earnings every year by 2035

Researchers have calculated the business risks posed by climate hazards such as extreme weather, which pose a threat to companies’ fixed assets such as property, machinery and equipment. Together, these losses could cut 7% from companies’ profits every year by 2035, half as much as the losses incurred during the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
