Scientists Built This House for Extreme Weather Testing

The University of Salford constructed 2 mock homes inside a huge chamber big enough to hold 24 double-decker buses. Researchers can tightly control weather conditions, replicating weather events across 95% of the planet. Producing a Nordic winter or a Saharan summer in a matter of hours for extreme weather testing. Their goal is to find out how homes can achieve net zero energy efficiency in future climates. They can mix up to 50 new and existing technologies. To see which are best for cost, comfort, and low carbon consumption. Watch to learn more about how this house is being tested for extreme weather conditions and what the houses of the future could look like.
