This Company Dehydrates Produce For Reducing Food Waste

59 million tonnes - or 30% - of India’s fruit and veg go to waste due to their short shelf life or because it doesn’t look perfect. Farmers often sell food at huge discounts in the evenings before it rots and is worth nothing. So S4S Technologies has created solar conduction dryers to reduce this food waste. It uses solar power to dry excess fruit, vegetables, pulses, and grains into snacks and cooking ingredients, extending the produce's life to more than a year while preserving 85% of the nutrients. Here’s more about how they are reducing food waste.
