How A Smart Buoy Can Prevent Whale Ship Strikes

Experts say up to 20,000 whales die each year due to whale ship strikes. Whales are a vital part of the ocean ecosystem and are also allies in the fight against climate change. A project funded by the Government of Chile, using smart buoy technology developed by the Blue Boat Initiative, is working to reduce fatal whale ship strikes. Here's how.
