More than a third of the world’s tree species are facing extinction. Here are 5 organizations protecting them

38% of tree species are under threat, says the IUCN, the world’s leading authority on species survival in its first Global Tree Assessment, which covers 80% of known species. The biggest threats are agriculture, logging and urbanization. Trees now account for a quarter of the IUCN’s most endangered species.
