1 in 5 emerging markets now have a larger share of renewables in their energy mix than the average developed country. Although developing economies are home to two-thirds of the world’s population they contain just 20% of the world’s fossil fuel production and reserves. Meanwhile, these economies hold 70% of the planet’s renewable energy potential.
