This Company Wants to Help Feed the World With Vertical Farms

Vertical Future designs, manufactures, and builds advanced vertical farms that can grow local produce anywhere in the world. Vertical farms use 95% less water than traditional methods and take up much less land. Vertical farms grow produce under LED lights rather than sunshine. Different wavelengths are chosen and tailored to the needs of each plant, and because the farms don’t use soil, they offer a far cleaner, insect-free environment. At present, these vertical farms are limited to crops such as herbs, salad leaves, tomatoes, and strawberries but are a few years away from growing protein-rich crops, such as wheat, at a fair price point. Watch to learn more about Vertical Future’s vertical farms.
